Mullen Wedding

March 17, 2012: Kelley Denham and Todd Mullen had their long-awaited wedding day at Memory Lane Event Center in Dripping Springs.  The theme was about as Celtic as it gets – green was everywhere to be seen, and little Irish details were included from the pin for the sash on Kelley’s dress to the music for the guests to dance to.  Many of the guests decked out in their very best green, ourselves included.  Slainte!

Even the garter was Celtic themed!

In addition to exchanging rings, Todd and Kelley had a handfasting, a very old ceremony indicating equal partnership and a connectivity a little deeper than just an exchange of rings, as well as a unity candle ceremony, and they finished their ceremony with stepping over broom and sword.  The broom and sword ceremony was a wish for the future – protection within domesticity, and a sweeping away of the past to make way for a wonderful future.

This penny, carried on Kelley’s bouquet, came from Todd’s side of the family – a way for Kelley and Todd to carry the past with their future. Tradition is very important to this couple.

The Irish National Plaid factored into much of the clothing of the day – a brighter shade than the Mullen plaid, Irish heritage was out in full force on the wedding day.

Yes, a bagpiper played all the music for the ceremony!

At last, the couple was made handfast… And performed their leap over broom and sword:

Andrea and Brandon

Andrea Taylor and Brandon Hardesty will be getting married in June of this year.  We made the trek up to Tulsa for photographs by the river, and at Oral Roberts University.  Brandon is an Art History graduate of Oklahoma State University, and Andrea is a graphic artist and employee of Banfield in Tulsa.  We started off at Riverside in Tulsa, before continuing on to Oral Roberts to finish off the session.  Very excited about this wedding – but first, the engagement pictures!

We can’t wait for our wedding in June!

Congratulations again, both of you!

The full gallery from their session can be viewed here.

Jordan and Jesika

Had to wait a little bit on posting this one, because Jordan had these photos done as a Christmas present for her family, but – at long last! – I can reveal the first ever professional family photos for Miss Jordan and Jesika!  At 7, Jesika is every inch her mother in spunk, beauty, and sheer fun.  We visited Old Settlers Park in Round Rock to capture photos that were pure country elegance, spiced up with the girls’ personalities.

I think I see modeling in this little lady's future!

Who thinks they're having far too much fun? Definitely!

Like mama, like daughter!

Thanks for looking at our photos! ~ Jesika

Casino Night At The Jefferson’s

Jamela and Jason Jefferson bought a house this year (congratulations!), and put together a fantastic casino night as a housewarming and holiday party for their friends.  We were in attendance to document this monumental occasion, and had a blast.  As always, the Jefferson family were fantastic hosts, and the party was certainly hopping!

The photobooth setup went over really well!

Congratulations again on your lovely new home, Jamela and Jason – it’s gorgeous and we hope you have many more happy times in it!  The rest of the photos from casino night can be seen here.

Abercrombie Family 2011

October 22, 2011: Let’s revisit the Abercrombies (and Deals)!  Things have been going fantastically since Stephanie and Derrick’s wedding in May of 2010 (only 17 months ago – wow!), and everyone has come together in a rather perfect family dynamic since that day.  Stephanie selected a fantastic location in Forest Creek for the family photos, and even brought out the newest member of the family, Rocky!

Once Rocky got tired of posing for pictures, we went for some amazing shots with just the four – they’re just as photogenic as back then, and Sterling and Parker had a two-fer that day, with photos in the morning at their Tae Kwon Do class.  They were great for the shoot, we moved quickly, and the images are just stunning.

Mama and her two handsome boys!

Check out the rest of the family photos on SmugMug!

More family photos can be seen in the album here… And if you’re a friend of this lovely family, keep an eye on your mailbox, because I hear there are some amazing holiday cards headed your way!

Don’t forget – all holiday sessions include a free ornament for your tree!  It’s made of recycled aluminum, and features the picture of your choice and custom verbiage!

Winter Deals!

It’s never too early to start thinking about your holiday cards! Today is the autumn equinox, and even here in Texas there’s a cool hint to the air that’s reminding us that despite the scorching heat of the too-long summer, autumn and winter are really just around the corner.

How convenient would it be to get your holiday pictures done sooner, rather than later? We do in-home and on-location portraiture that takes the stress out of your holiday pictures and ensures your friends and family get a holiday card that just screams of your family’s individuality! Even easier, cards can be ordered directly from the album we create for you to see all photos from your session!

And… This 2011 holiday season, ALL holiday sessions include a special holiday gift from us here at FionaLorne Photography! We look forward to hearing from you as always, and enjoy the cooler nights!

Parks Wedding

August 13, 2011: I was invited back to Kentucky, this time to Owensboro, to assist Artistic Drift Photography with another wedding.  This time, Jenny Danhauer and Adam Parks were to be married in Sts. Joseph and Paul Cathedral on 4th Street.  The ceremony was beautiful, the cathedral reminiscent of those in Europe, and bride and groom very much a young couple in love.  Both are graduates of the University of Kentucky.  They have since made their home in Baltimore, Maryland, but they left their home state with a beautiful party!

Flanked by their closest friends, Jenny and Adam say their vows

A brief detour to the Riverpark Center was just the thing before Jenny and Adam joined their reception… The clouds and the Ohio River were the perfect accessories for this couple!

You'll probably be paying for that one for years, Adam!

Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Parks, and thank you so much for letting us be a part of your special day!  Anyone interested in photos can check out the rest (still under construction!) here.

Jacynthia and Jason

Jacynthia Mackin and Jason Martin have been together for almost six years.  Both are locals of the Bardstown, Kentucky, area.  Following assisting with the wedding of Jenny Danhauer and Adam Parks, we made a few trips to some very scenic locations around Bardstown for couples photos of Jacynthia and Jason.  First on the list was the Civil War Museum, a replication of a Civil War-era town in the middle of Bardstown.  From there, we made our way to Stephen Foster’s My Old Kentucky Home for some absolutely classic photos.

By the way - Jason proposed in December! Congratulations!
